Meet Your Host

Hi, I’m Mrs. Kimball, your host extraordinaire! I’m a former third grade teacher, current mom of 4, and just played the evil nanny in Mary Poppins last summer – and I bring all that experience and goofy spirit to my service of families.

I want kids to know that learning can be FUN, and that a job well done is worthy of their time and attention. I pour myself into making #LifeSkillsNow camp the best event for kids and teens you’ve ever seen – and it warms my heart when people have a special experience!

Life Skills Now was incredibly valuable for my family. As a parent, I leaned a lot of nuances I was never explicitly taught. The lessons gave me and my kids a common language and normalized their participation around the home to an extent they have previously resisted. I learned tips for getting my neurodivergent kids (and myself!) motivated to get things done, and we’re already putting those in place with great success. I loved the breadth of offerings and the detailed step by step lessons. Across our family we watched nearly all of them! My oldest (boy, 8) in particular wanted to watch every one of the cooking and maintenance lessons. We’re already looking forward to next year!

I was blown away by the quality of most of the workshops! So much ‘meat’ in such a short time! Our 9 year old daughter made so many great things in the kitchen even though I couldn’t help! I thoroughly enjoyed the Parent Professional Track as well as the Wellness track. So many presenters were able to create powerful presentations in only 5-15 minutes. Camp was time well spent and I’m looking forward to Season 4. It’s my goal to see if I can have a friend or 2 join us ‘in real life’ to add even more community to camp week.

I loved the balance of life skills for different areas of life. There are so many thing we take for granted so to be able to teach our kids/teens skills from other experts was a joy - as we know often kids listen better from others too! Thank you for a great week of Life Skills Camp!

As a parent I was excited to see all the great lessons my child would partake in and learn from. I didn’t realize how much I would gain from their lessons as well! The presenters in this camp did a super job at reaching the kids, getting them excited and keeping their attention. I thoroughly enjoyed them as well as the parent lessons. My kiddo was a tad bummed about not winning a prize but when I showed them all the cool things we did and learned for free, we decided that was a great “prize”! We will definitely be using our skills and have already put a reminder for next years #LifeSkillsNow!

Fantastic! As a homeschool mom, this was perfect for my 10yo. This has been a battle / struggle this past school year. This was not only helpful for her to hear, but for me to learn in order to have more tools in order to encourage and come along-side her. So many truths & great tools too, such as the truth about negative self-talk, why we procrastinate, and how to evaluate in order to do better next time vs. just getting discouraged. His examples were also super relatable (except the technology part, as that is something we limit). I would really appreciate more videos like these next year!
