Ice cream is a classic summer treat full of happy memories but it can also be loaded with unnecessary sugar and hormones if not properly sourced. Milk kefir is incredibly nutritious and easy to make at home for a fraction of what it costs at the store, though store bought kefir may be used for this recipe as well. The tanginess of the kefir pairs nicely with the sweetness of the vanilla and strawberries while contrasting with the slight bitterness of the cacao powder or nibs. This probiotic packed shake can be a great way to start the day or as a treat post workout. If making at home, dairy milk may be substituted for nut milks.
