Root Beer Soda

Yield 1 quart

Supplies

  • ¼ cup ginger bug (see recipe p. 27)
  • 1 tablespoon Root Beer Syrup (see recipe p. 31)
  • ⅛ cup lime juice (optional)
  • 1 quart glass jar w/cloth cover & rubber band
  • Bottles

Recipe

  1. Combine all ingredients in the glass jar and cover with the cloth and secure with the rubber band.
  2. Allow to ferment on the counter for 1-3 days. Look for bubbles forming and taste.
  3. Once it has a flavor you enjoy, strain to remove debris and store in tightly capped bottles to retain the fizz.
